The Sub-forum on Large Power Grid Security Risk Prevention and Control of the 2025 International Forum on Energy Transition was held in Suzhou, Jiangsu, on Oct 23. Guided by the National Energy Administration and hosted by CSG, the sub-forum focused on key issues such as grid security and the integrated management of energy sources, networks, loads, and storage in the context of the energy transition.
It brought together over 150 participants, including senior officials from the governments and embassies of the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Cambodia, Laos, and the Philippines, as well as representatives from international organizations, energy companies, industry associations, and academic researchers. The discussions were conducted both online and offline.
In a collaborative effort, 40 organizations, including the National Energy Administration, domestic and international grid companies, power generation companies, design firms, manufacturing enterprises, and research institutions, jointly issued the “Initiative on Advancing the Modernization of the Power Security Governance System and Governance Capacity to Ensure the Green and Low-Carbon Energy Transformation with Security”. This initiative aims to enhance the global power security governance system and modernize governance capabilities.
