On Nov 17, 2025, the Young Engineers Internship and Exchange Program, jointly hosted by the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) and China Southern Power Grid (CSG), was officially launched at the CSG Science and Technology Exchange Center in Guangzhou. This marks CIGRE’s first global initiative for internships and exchanges for young engineers. Out of 76 applicants from 19 countries, 10 outstanding young power engineers from six countries were selected to participate in this landmark international cooperation event in the Greater Bay Area of China.
The internship and exchange program, which runs from Nov 17 to Dec 14, is primarily hosted by CSG Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau. It combines technical visits and collaborative research, featuring various courses on technological innovation, digital grids, green development in the Greater Bay Area, industry-academia-research integration, and cultural exchanges. Participants will also explore over 20 advanced technical solutions and major project cases in substation, transmission, distribution and electricity utilization. The program aims to expand technical horizons, encourage mutual learning among young engineers, and facilitate international exchanges in technology, equipment, and standards.
